OAA Connects with Metabolic Dietitians at GMDI 2026 Conference

The Organic Acidemia Association (OAA) was proud to participate as an exhibitor at the recent Genetic Metabolic Dietitians International (GMDI) Conference, held April 23–25 at the Wyndham St. Louis.

Representing OAA, Kathy Stagni and Karen Dalton hosted an information table where they connected with metabolic dietitians from across the country (and many international) professionals who play a vital role in the daily care of individuals living with organic acidemias. Throughout the conference, attendees stopped by to learn more about OAA’s programs, including our patient registry, family support resources, and patient assistance program.

A highlight of the event was the opportunity to connect with fellow patient advocacy organizations, fostering collaboration and sharing ideas to better support our rare disease community. These in-person conversations continue to strengthen partnerships and expand awareness of the resources available to families.

In addition to exhibiting, OAA engaged with ongoing research efforts highlighted during the conference, including poster presentations that reflect continued progress in understanding and treating metabolic disorders.  Photo is Jennifer Myles from the NIH with her poster on Cobalamin C.

We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this important gathering and to continue building meaningful connections with both clinicians and advocacy partners. Together, we are advancing support, awareness, and research for the organic acidemia community.
