OAA Connects with Metabolic Professionals at SIMD NAMA Training

Kathy Stagni, Executive Director of the Organic Acidemia Association, represented OAA at the SIMD/NAMA Foundations 2026 training in the Chicago area on October 5. At the OAA exhibit, Kathy shared information about organic acidemias and resources supporting patients, families, and the metabolic community.

Held each fall, NAMA Foundations (formerly NAMA) helps medical and biochemical genetics trainees deepen their understanding of inborn errors of metabolism, including their underlying mechanisms, diagnosis, and treatment. Internationally renowned faculty teach in an informal, interactive setting, helping trainees apply their understanding of disturbed metabolism to managing metabolic emergencies and chronic biochemical disease.

OAA appreciates opportunities like this to build connections with the professionals who care for individuals and families affected by organic acidemias.
