Haley Stubbs, the new Research Program Manager for OAA

Meet your new OAA Research Program Manager

I’m Haley Stubbs, the new Research Program Manager for OAA. Here are some things to know about me!

I earned my PhD from Vanderbilt University in biochemistry and structural biology. I am also a rare disease patient myself, which is a large part of what sparked my interest in science. I was diagnosed with an inherited retinal degeneration called retinitis pigmentosa when I was a toddler. After genetic testing, I found out I was eligible for a gene therapy known as Luxturna and received the treatment this past July! I like to joke and tell people I have x-ray vision now and can see through walls.

In my free time I love sewing my own clothes and taking care of my two pet rabbits (Bean and Gracie pictured below; Bean on the left and Gracie on the right).

I am so excited and honored to serve the organic acidemia community. Let’s work together to push research forward and advance treatment and care for organic acidemias!
