Elijah (19), Tyler (22) 

MMA Mut 0, Liver/kidney transplant

Team Tyjah is our car racing team, the word “Tyjah” is derived from the names, Tyler (22 years) and Elijah (19 years), both of whom have MMA Mut 0. Tyler Clement is the lead driver, and Elijah Clement is the Crew Chief (Boss!). We participate in 8-hour endurance races around the country. There are four drivers and 2 pit crew at each event. Tyler is the fastest driver on the team and Elijah is our boss, coach, and cheerleader!

They have both had liver and kidney transplants, Elijah in 2018 and Tyler in 2019, and have thrived ever since. We are so grateful for the amazing care provided by Texas Children’s Hospital, and for the loving support provided by OAA over their lifetime struggle with MMA. In appreciation of OAA, Team Tyjah will raise awareness and contributions for the association through the racing program.
After many years of successful sprint racing, 2024 was our first season endurance racing and we had a lot to learn but finished 3rd in class out of 13 teams and 16th overall out of 46 teams. We will start out 2025 season March 15 sprint racing at our home track in New Orleans, then race two endurance races in May in Watkins Glen NY, June in Summit Point WV., hopefully followed by races in Alton Virgina, Sebring Florida, and Lexington Ohio.
