Curtis R. Coughlin II, Ph.D., MS, MBE

Curtis Coughlin is an associate professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. He completed his doctoral training with Professor Stephen Goodman and has continued to study lysine metabolism. His lab is focused on pyridoxine-dependent epilepsy (PDE-ALDH7A1) and glutaric aciduria type I (GA I). The aim of this work is to leverage the understanding of biochemistry to improve the diagnosis and treatment of these disorders. He is a translational researcher committed to partnering with families, clinicians, and scientist to study the natural history of these disorder with the goal to ensure scientific advances are relevant and patient centered.
